A Schengen short-stay visa lets you visit the Schengen countries in Europe for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. You apply to the embassy of the country where you will spend the most time – or, if your time is equal, the country you will enter first.
How it works from Ethiopia
- Find the right embassy for your trip.
- Book an appointment with that embassy or its visa service provider in Addis Ababa (this differs by country).
- Prepare your documents: application form, passport, photo, travel medical insurance (at least €30,000 cover), travel and accommodation plans, proof of funds and a letter from your employer or school.
- Attend the appointment and give your fingerprints and photo.
- Wait for the decision.
